GRSA Bylaw Changes Voting Period
Voting for the proposed GRSA Bylaw Changes has opened. Voting will close on March 28th.
Article IX – Amendments and Bylaws
Amendment 1: Voting for Association matters, including officer elections, amendments, and other business, shall occur virtually. Voting may occur in person at a recognized business meeting if quorum is reached and vote is called for by the membership.
Rationale: Allows for flexibility with voting, engagement of membership beyond those present for business meetings, and aligns with current operating procedures.
Bylaw: Board Member Travel & Registration Benefits
Bylaw addition: GRSA Board members will receive complimentary early bird registration for the GRSA annual workshop. Additionally, funding for required Board travel will be allocated from GRSA’s operating budget to ensure financial constraints do not deter individuals from serving. Board travel includes an annual Board meeting at the future GRSA workshop host site and the GRSA annual workshop. Each Board member is eligible to request mileage reimbursement or gas coverage for the annual Board meeting.

By allocating funds within the GRSA operating budget for Board meeting travel and state workshop registration fees, the Association seeks to foster accessibility in leadership with the understanding that many members are currently paying member dues personally. Financials are shared annually at the state business meeting.
